About Maker Space 

 

The Maker Space introduces you to the 21st century technology of innovation and making including laser cutters, 3D printers, CNC milling and digital sewing machines. Attend these accessible courses and you will quickly understand the power of these machines and be able to use the equipment to start your own projects.

Schools can book in to 3D printing and laser cutting workshops and can bring a class of 30, normally for a four hour visit. Schools can take Introduction to 3D printing with 3D printing for 3D scanning OR Introduction to Laser cutting with Introduction to vector software.

Other users can select any of the courses but note that you need to complete some basic courses before you can use the equipment and progress to more advanced ones. Please refer to the ‘required course’ section for this information.

3D PRINTING

We have four courses on 3D printing and the softwaretools needed to design for this flexible fabricationtechnology. Everyone should take Introduction to 3D printing to be progress to the other courses and to be able to use the 3D printers for their own projects. Two of the courses are suitable for school groups of 30 students. MORE

We have four courses on laser cutting and the software tools used to design for this method of making things. These courses cover fabrication in both solid materials like wood and plastic as well as fabrics. Two of the courses are suitable for school groups of 30 students.MORE
